The Bang family has always valued time spent around the dinner table, especially after a long day in a blind or spent walking around Fredericksburg. We enjoy good, locally-sourced food and great conversation, so we invite you to stay at the BWR Lodge to dine with us during your hunting trip.
Renowned chef and pastry queen Rebecca Rather leads a small kitchen staff during the hunting season as the ranch’s executive chef, and her meals speak for themselves.
Most mornings start with a light breakfast overlooking the Hill Country. Fruit, breakfast bars, and homemade cinnamon rolls along with coffee, tea, milk, juice and sodas are laid out for guests to grab before leaving for their morning hunt. When hunters return in the mid-morning, Rebecca and her team will have a more substantial brunch prepared, offering both light and hardy fare guaranteed to carry guests through the day to dinner.
Dinner is the main attraction at Bang Whitetail Ranch, so be sure to save room and work up an appetite – we’ll have an offering of cheese and appetizers available when you return from your evening hunt, as well as a full-served dinner and one of Rebecca’s famous desserts. We have an extensive wine cellar, cold beers in the fridge, and a fully stocked bar if you prefer to make a cocktail. Dinner is a family affair, so we encourage you to bring yours to be a part of ours for the length of your stay at BWR.
Of course, all meals are catered to your preferences. We’ll send you a Culinary Preferences Form a few weeks prior to your arrival so that we can plan a menu around your tastes. We are sensitive to all food allergies and dietary restrictions, and we will gladly prepare all meals with the utmost care to ensure everyone in your party enjoys each dish. We sincerely hope you’ll join us for dinner, and look forward to sharing our table with you.
